Project Timothy opened it's doors on November 1, 1990.

Fr. Paul Wood came to Dayton and Waitsburg from Brooklyn New York Diocese and saw a need for financial help for the needy families in this area.
Father Wood solicited Brother Padriac Campbel O.S.F. Brother Campbel come to Dayton for one year, and helped organize the by-laws, secure grants and other funding sources.

The founding principles, found in the preamble of the by-laws:

  • Christian hospitality for all who come.
  • Evangelization by example and, where possible, by encouragement in the spiritual life with the utmost respect for each person's background and religious tradition.
  • Charity toward those in crisis through the provision of pastoral counseling and help to obtain the basic necessities of life during an emergency, in so far as possible.
  • Development and support of new programs to address community needs in the future.

Today, the Staff at Project Timothy is a totally volunteer organization dedicated to the above principles.

Project Timothy Volunteers strictly follow the guidelines of the organization, when providing financial assistance. Assistance is limited due to funding restraints. However, all are welcomed with respect and dignity.
